Why Hire a Professional for Termite Control?

WHY HIRE A PROFESSIONAL FOR TERMITE CONTROL

It is highly advised against trying to treat your home for termites without consulting a professional, not only because average homeowners do not posses the knowledge to combat termites at a high level, but also because of the use of chemicals is always a dangerous subject if you aren’t educated on the process.

The conventional barrier treatment uses a formulation of liquid residual termiticide which bonds to the soil and is effective in the total elimination of a termite colony. The termite professional uses specialized equipment such as heavy-duty drills and high-pressure, injection rods to apply the termiticide deep into the soil or below the concrete. A barrier treatment may use upwards of 100-200 gallons of termiticide which should only be applied by a licensed pesticide applicator.

The baiting system is another popular control method when dealing with termites. This method is achieved by placing poisonous bait around potential foraging sites for termites.  Once the bait is located and consumed the termites then return to the colony and spread the poison by feeding other members of the colony.  Some types of termite bait that use an insect growth regulator which serve a similar purpose but at a more gradual and less targeted pace and must be regularly monitored.
